Oct 17, 2017 · Jun 2023 • Family. Sequoia is a very nice park. There are a lot of trees that you can get close to for pictures. The General Sherman Tree is easy to get to. Go to the parking lot and hike 7/10 of a mile OR take a shuttle from the parking lot to an easy 3/10 of a mile hike to the tree. Lots of beautiful scenery and big trees here. Park has two entrances, one through the south end of Sequoia, and one through Kings Canyon national Park. There is a shuttle that everyone should use. It was very busy and trying to find parking after 10 was about impossible. Come early get a parking spot at a shuttle stop and use the shuttle.

The back of kings is the actual canyon and worth the hour drive to see. In both places you end up at pretty high elevation and you may feel it.
